Mt. Gox, an important global Bitcoin trading platform in San Francisco Xinhua, announced its temporary closure on 25 February. The platform was once the world’s largest Bitcoin trading market, and there were reports that it was offline because of hacking and a large number of Bitcoin thefts, disturbing the fate of investors and related companies.
Mt．Gox网站从24日晚上起就已经一片空白。次日，网站贴出致客户通告说，由于近日新闻报道可能对平台运作及市场造成的影响，“决定暂时关闭所有交易，以保护网站和用户”。通告说，运营团队将密切观察形势，随情况变化作出反应。
The Mt.Gox website has been blank since the evening of the 24th day. The following day, the website posted a client notice that, because of the impact that recent news stories might have on the operation of the platform and the market, “it was decided to close all transactions temporarily to protect the website and users.” The announcement stated that the operations team would closely monitor the situation and respond as it changed.
美国媒体报道了一份在网上流传的文件，其中透露说Mt．Gox受到黑客攻击，总共744408个比特币失窃，盗取行为持续几年未被察觉。如果按24日交易价计算，这些失窃比特币价值3．5亿美元。该平台因此资不抵债，随时可能破产。
The U.S. media reported an online document that revealed that Mt. Gox had been hacked, that a total of 744408 bitcoins had been stolen, and that thefts had gone undetected for several years. If the 24-day transaction price was used, the stolen bitcoins were worth $350 million.
这份文件看起来是Mt．Gox制定的“危机战略草案”，其中提出了分阶段对策和时间表，包括关闭网站、减少负债、公司更名和重组、重新设计服务和代码库等。
This document, which appears to be the “Draft Crisis Strategy” developed by Mt. Gox, sets out a phased response and timetable, including the closure of websites, the reduction of liabilities, the renaming and restructuring of companies, the redesign of services and the code library.

Mt. Gox did not respond to questions from the media about the document, the authenticity of which has yet to be confirmed. However, for some time, the media have noticed business anomalies in Mt. Gox, based in Tokyo, Japan, such as the suspension of the customer's withdrawal of the United States dollar at the beginning of this month, allegedly due to deficiencies in its system software.

According to Bloomberg, the CoinDesk bitcoin price index fell by 15 per cent to $464.66 earlier in 25 years. By contrast, it reached a high of $1151 in December last year.
