比特币网络大概每10分钟生产一个记录交易的区块。从最初的1个区块.2个区块慢慢累积，到现在将近500000个区块。而比特币区块高度，就是指生成到第多少多少个区块。比如BCX在高度498888分叉，意思就是比特币在生成第498888个区块时执行分叉操作。
The Bitcoin network produces about one block of transactions every 10 minutes. From the first block, two blocks accumulated slowly to nearly 500,000 blocks today. And the height of the Bitcoin block means how many blocks are generated. For example, BCX is at an altitude of 498888, meaning that Bitcoin is running a fork operation when generating block 4988888.
另外，由于比特币大约每10分钟生成一个新区块，所以根据比特币高度可以大致推算出分叉的时间，但是这个时间并不绝对准确，因为每一次产生新的区块的时间有可能比10分钟短一些。比如BCX分叉消息刚出来时，预计是12月13日分叉。但实际上在12月12日傍晚6：30就到达了比特币高度498888，执行了分叉。因此，一般某个分叉币真正的分叉时间，要比团队最初宣布的分叉时间提前一些。
Moreover, since bitcoin generates a new block approximately every 10 minutes, the time for splits can be roughly extrapolated from bitcoin height, but this time is not absolutely accurate, because each time a new block is created may be shorter than 10 minutes. For example, when news of BCX splits came out, it was expected to be 13 December. But it actually reached Bitcoins height 498888 by 6.30 p.m. on 12 December, the splits were executed.
